You can earn some extra money by writing about things that interest you on a blog of your own.  The great thing is that you do NOT need to be computer savvy at all.  If you know how to use something as simple as facebook, you can make money by making a little blog or website.

My First Website

So I went over to Godaddy and purchased my first domain name after learning the key points on how to chose a good SEO friendly URL. Then I went on over to HostGator and signed up for my hosting account. I then pointed the site at the hosting account and my site was live!

I’m not going to lie to you, this first I site I built turned out to be kind of a dud. I spent a lot of time on it because it was my first site and I was still learning the ropes. I had to still learn a few things and boy did I learn a ton from that first site. I learned a lot of things not to do and a lot things I could do more of. The fact is that it is now October and that first site cost 8 dollars to buy the domain name and has made me about 100 dollars over the past 9 months. I would consider that a decent site if I had only spent a couple of hours on it, but I spent a lot of hours on it. But I had to spend that time learning somewhere and it makes me happy that it profited me a little bit.

Since that first site roughly 9 months ago I have created 35 sites from scratch, some of them bring in a lot of money, some bring in no money and some make decent money. I am true believer in the 80/20 rule. That’s to say that 20% of your sites will bring in 80% of your money. I have seen that to be the case with my sites and that is a great reason why you should never only build 1 or 2 sites.

That is something they teach in TKA and for that reason I bought 6 sites the week after I bought my first one and I am very glad I did. But I didn’t stop there, I bought 6 sites each month for the first few months and my best performing site was a site I bought 3 months into the program. If I would have only bought the first 6 sites, I would not be successful enough to do internet marketing as my only job.

I started to see a little money come in the second month, and by a little money I mean like 15 dollars in the second month. The first time I saw that I had money in my adsense account I was amazed. It was the best 20 cents I had ever earned. It still thrills me to see money come in on every one of my sites.

I can see now why 99% of people that try to make money online never succeed. There are so many scams that say they are there to help you and you end up paying a ton of money and you make none in return. I could have been one of those suckers if Court and Mark were dishonest, but they aren’t and they are responsible for me making money from my websites today.

The main thing you need to earn money is the traffic. If you don’t have people visiting your site you won’t make any money. You have to think about internet marketing the same way you would look at marketing for an actual business. If you have a great store you won’t make money if people don’t know about it.

So in order to get people to your site you need to rank in Google for certain keywords. You need to research which keywords are searched for most and target those words. You can use the Google keyword tool to find how many searches words get each month.

Next you need to make sure you get on the first page for that keyword. You won’t get traffic to your website if you are on the second page or worse. So you have to be in the top 10 to make money. The important thing now is knowing how to increase web traffic. Once you increase traffic to your website you will see that money will start to come in.

The keyword academy is a great place to learn how to rank your site higher in Google and other search engines. Learning SEO (search engine optimization) is one of the most important things you can do if you have an online business. Don’t be one of the people that makes a website only to realize that nobody ever visits it.

You want to focus on getting targeted web traffic because they will be the people that will buy what you are selling. So how do you increase online traffic? The first thing you need to do is identify the exact niche that you want to target. Earning money online isn’t something that happens overnight…at the beginning. You can get to the point where your web sites have a lot of authority in Google and other search engines that they will rank in a very short period of time but don’t hold your breath.

You can buy web site traffic but I wouldn’t recommend it until you understand how adwords works. You can lose a lot of money doing this and many times you can rank a website in Google with a little work instead of paying for it.

To increase targeted traffic you need to write posts in your site that have the exact word you trying to target in the post title. This should happen naturally when you decide to write on a subject within your niche. I would recommend posting on a site often and making the site fairly large with a lot of content. A site with only a couple of posts is not going to be very useful for most people and won’t rank for many words in Google which mean you won’t get much web traffic. On the other hand if you have 30 posts that are focused on the same niche, you will start to see that it is a form of free web traffic and your profits will go up dramatically.

Step one is to find words that are related to your site that will be fairly easy to rank for in Google.  Go to the Google keyword tool, if you search “keyword tool” it’s the first one that comes up.  There you will enter in the word that is most related to your site and search.  Make sure that you change the search results from broad to exact.  This tool will show you how many searches that word gets in Google each month and you can make it show the estimated CPC (cost per click) associated with each word.  A word like insurance will have a big CPC while something like kittens will have a very low CPC.  Your goal is to find the words that have a high Search Volume and that would be easy to rank for so that you can get on the first page of Google and therefore have increased web site traffic.  As always you will need to have a post on your site that contains the keyword you are trying to target in the post title and then provides useful information on that subject so people will link to your site.  The more links the better the post will rank which will  increase search engine traffic.

The first thing you need to do is buy some websites! But before you buy any websites you need to have a Hosting account for your websites.
